Our difference

Chai, but not as you know it.

Chai is more than just tea with milk. It's tea brewed with warmth, spice and character, often layered with cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and other aromatics that turn a simple cup into something richer and more comforting.

Tea can be delicate, light and quick. Chai is slower, fuller and made to be experienced. It's the kind of drink you sit with, talk over and come back to.

At Time2Chai, that difference is the whole point.

Brewed slow. Served warm. Made to linger.

The idea

Cape Town's Slow Café.

Time2Chai was built around a simple idea: not everything needs to be rushed. Our doors are open in Claremont, a few minutes from the heart of the Southern Suburbs.

We're a slow café, a place to pause, sit a little longer, have a proper conversation, play a game, enjoy good food and drink something made with intention. We want the experience to feel less like grabbing caffeine on the way somewhere, and more like choosing to be present for a while.

And no, we don't sell coffee.

That's deliberate. Chai isn't our alternative to coffee. It's the reason we exist. We've built the menu around chai, speciality drinks, comforting food and a different kind of café experience.

Pause. Sip. Connect.

Your seat in the garden is waiting.
